Drawing Mary

Our work starts with hand drawing a picture from the photo sent.  I always try to capture the spirit of the subject.  I usually pick a few songs to listen to while I draw that may put me in mind of their personality.  I let the music seep into my mind and soul as it helps guide my hands. This piece is called Stoptime Rag by Scott Joplin written in 1910.  I feel it captured a part of my grandaughter's soul.

  1. This is really cute, Deborah! Best of luck to you as you proceed! (I have tweeted and sent this to my facebook site.) You certainly have talent! Your granddaughter is adorable and the portrait is an amazing likeness.

  2. Thank you so much Patti, for your kind words!
